Overview

Client is based in California and is a well-established organization with over 15 years of experience in providing dermatology care services. Renowned for their commitment to skin health and beauty, they operate multiple clinics across the West Coast. In their pursuit of continuous improvement, Clinics is in the market for an EMR solution. The client has identified a need to enhance patient tracking within their dermatology facility.

Business challenges

The client was facing a main challenge in Dermatological interoperability and data security. To overcome this challenge, the provider reached out to us to develop a seamless interoperability feature for their existing EMR system. Additionally, the client was looking for requirements for AI-generated notes and patient engagement tools.

Thinkitive Solution

Thinkitive business analyst teams and SMEs connected with clients multiple times to get complete requirements After connecting with the client multiple times, the team finalized the requirements as per the understanding and priority.

To make the data-sharing process more seamless and secure, the client wants to implement a dermatological interoperability feature in the existing EMR system. As per the requirement, our team has developed the feature. Additionally, the client wants AI-generated notes and patient engagement tools, so we have provided the same features to the client with more functionalities.

Solution Highlights

    1. Seamless Dermatological Interoperability

Develop standardized data structures compatible with various dermatological imaging devices (e.g., dermatoscopes, pathology systems). Implement interfaces that can interpret and integrate diverse data formats into the EMR system. While developing this feature our team has validated that the Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) and Health Level Seven (HL7) standards are being followed for data exchange. We have implemented encrypted protocols for secure transmission of dermatological data with HIPAA standards to get surety for patient data confidentiality and data integrity.

-  Data Standardization and Integration

-  HL7 and DICOM Compliance

-  Secure Data Transmission

    2. Effective Patient Engagement Tool

To make effective patient engagement we have developed a patient engagement module within the EMR system accessible to patients. We have designed an intuitive user interface that allows patients to access educational materials, treatment plans, and aftercare instructions.

Also, we have implemented a specialized system called Content Management System. With the help of this system, dermatologists can update and manage educational content. It allows dermatologists to upload resources, images, videos, and text providing information on dermatological conditions.

    3. AI-generated Notes

We have implemented a specific AI tool that helps to analyze spoken or written inputs during patient encounters. This feature assists in extracting relevant information and structuring it into comprehensive, contextually accurate notes.

We have also offered an interface within the EMR system allowing dermatologists to review and edit AI-generated notes. It helps the provider to get an option to confirm accuracy, and make corrections.

Value Delivered
